Sanding
- The sanding process is to provide a flat surface suitable for the specified coating system to be applied over and conducive to minimal coating and appearance imperfections.
- Prior to sanding processes there needs to be an assessment of suitability of the flooring that is to be sanded. Relevant inspection includes overall condition of the flooring as well as moisture assessment.
- Flooring areas require thorough preparation for sanding where filing of nail holes and cleanliness of the working area need to be ensured.
- To satisfy healthy and clean workplace while sanding, K2 Flooring Pty Ltd uses advanced sanding machines and equipment which ensure dust minimisation. For this reason customers will be able to use their indoor living areas immediately without making a great effort on cleaning.
Coating
- Different timber types require various coating type systems: Waterborne Polyurethane Coatings (natural looking finish), Solvent Based Polyurethane (protective layer creates a glass look finish) and Hard Wax Oil finish (matt natural finish and more accurate timber colour)
- Application of the specified coating system is applied with care and precision in order to achieve expected results of our customer’s.
- Final result is always consulted with customers after completion of the services to ensure full satisfaction.
Staining
- Staining is used to strengthen existing colour of the flooring or when customer requires custom coloured finish.
- We use several wood staining types which are selected according to customer’s expectations. K2 works with various staining types: Spirit based, Turpentine based, Water based and Oil based where each result in different finish
- Our company also offers colour matching of the flooring, however, effects on different varieties of timber need to be taken into consideration.
