Subfloor Preparation
Grinding
- Is used in concrete covered areas where the flooring is going to be laid out.
Sanding
- Is provided to level areas covered by timber layer (Plywood, Oriented strand-board, Wood plank).
Plywood and battens installation
- Plywood underlayment provides a smooth and flat surface for the flooring area. Is is used to even and cover imperfections of the subfloors.
- Battens are generally used to increase the height of the flooring, however some types of flooring is not suitable for this type of underlay.
Moisture barrier application
- Also known as waterproofing membrane which is used as coating over freshly laid hardened concrete, prior to the application of floor levellers.
- Helps to prevent water from damaging coatings and sealers.
Self-leveling compound application
- Self-leveling compound/concrete is a cementitious mixture with an easy-flow system and faster set up.
- It is used to smooth uneven spots, humps on concrete surfaces that are not severe enough that it would require total concrete replacement.
Acoustic rubber application
- Due to rubber’s high absorbent qualities, this acoustic underlay is considered to be an essential material used in areas where high acoustic standards are required
- This underlay significantly reduces the acoustic noise levels of wood and laminate flooring in internal living environment and improves overall noise intrusion from neighbours.
